The Dodge brand is about to begin its transition towards electrification, but that doesn’t mean Mopar fans won’t be spoiled with high-performance cars and trucks in the future.

Yes, the lineup is still riddled with tried-and-true veterans, but Stellantis launched a new small crossover. In addition, the Dodge Daytona Concept debuted in August 2022 as a preview of what’s to come for the performance division of the auto giant, while the Dodge Daytona SRT Concept unveiled at the 2022 SEMA show previewed the first six of nine electric powertrain output levels, ranging from 455 to 670 horsepower, with more to come. Here’s what to expect from the Dodge brand in 2023, with models listed in alphabetical order.

Dodge Challenger

One of three of the brand’s nameplates, the Dodge Challenger is back for 2023 with minor changes. The Challenger SRT Super Stock and its 807-horsepower, supercharged 6.2L V8 engine soldiers on, while SXT, SXT AWD, GT and GT AWD trims are equipped with a more sensible 303-horsepower, 3.6L V6. The Challenger R/T is blessed with up to 375 horsepower thanks to its 5.7L HEMI V8, and the R/T Scat Pack in regular and Widebody configurations benefit from a 485-hp 6.4L V8. The SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Widebody get 717 hp with the blown 6.2, while the SRT Hellcat Redeye and SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody rely on 797 hp. The Jailbreak variant, which opens up full access to the brand’s personalisation options and 807 horsepower for the SRT Hellcat Redeye, is now available on the SRT Hellcat. Plum Crazy and B5 Blue paint colours are back, too.

For its final year on the market in its current form, the 2023 Challenger is also offered in limited-run variants part of Dodge’s seven “Last Call” special-edition cars. Number one is the 2023 Dodge Challenger Shakedown, which is loaded with content in addition to a Mopar Shaker hood, “392” fender and “Shakedown” spoiler graphics, 20-inch low-gloss back wheels, red six-piston Brembo brakes, Black Nappa/Alcantara seats, red interior stitching and Demonic Red seat belts. The Challenger Shakedown R/T Scat Pack is painted in Destroyer Gray, while the Challenger Shakedown R/T Scat Pack Widebody is painted in Pitch Black.

The 2023 Dodge Challenger R/T Scat Pack Swinger is the third “Last Call” model, boasting the Widebody exterior and three paint colour choices: F8 Green, Sublime Green and Knuckle White. It’s decked out with Gold School badging, a Gold School painted Shaker intake, 20-inch Gold School alloy wheels, Retro Swinger rear fender graphics, Black six-piston Brembo brakes, wood-like interior trim, Nappa/Alcantara seats and green interior stitching.

The 2023 Dodge Challenger Black Ghost is the sixth “Last Call” model. Based on the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody with an 807-horsepower supercharged 6.2L V8, the Black Ghost is painted in Pitch Black and sports “gator skin” graphics across its roof, white rear fender graphics, a Midnight Metallic SRT grille badge, Black six-piston Brembo brakes, Black hood pins, Alcantara/Laguna leather seats, a Dinamica suede headliner and carbon fibre interior trim bezels.

Last but not least, Dodge dealers will facilitate the transportation process for creating a 2022 or 2023 Dodge Challenger convertible through third-party supplier Drop Top Customs, a $26K USD conversion.

The Dodge Charger boasts a similar trim level and powertrain lineup as the Challenger. SXT, SXT AWD, GT and GT AWD variants get the 3.6L V6 with 292 or 300 horsepower, the R/T gets the 370-hp 5.7L V8, the Scat Pack and Scat Pack Widebody get the 485-hp 6.4L V8, the SRT Hellcat Widebody gets the 717-hp supercharged 6.2L V8 and the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody rips the pavement with 797 horses.

The Jailbreak variant for the Dodge Charger is now available on the SRT Hellcat Redeye and the SRT Hellcat, which open up full access to all of the brand’s personalisation options in addition to the 807-horsepower supercharged 6.2L V8 for the Redeye. The 2023 model year also brings back the Destroyer Gray, Crazy Plum and B5 Blue paint colours.

It’s the final model year for the current-generation Dodge Charger, and it’s going out with a bang as the brand announced seven “Last Call” special-edition models, each one being produced in very limited quantities. The 2023 Dodge Charger Super Bee is the second of those seven models, available in Scat Pack trim painted in B5 Blue and in Scat Pack Widebody painted in Plum Crazy. It also features Super Bee badging and graphics, 20-inch knurled wheels or 18-inch drag wheels, an adaptive damping suspension, Black Mopar hood pins, SRT hood and exhaust tips, Red four-piston Brembo brakes and Super Bee interior trimmings.

The 2023 Dodge Charger R/T Scat Pack Swinger is “Last Call” model number four, sporting the Widebody and featuring one of three paint colours: F8 Green, Sublime Green or White Knuckle. The Swinger also gets Gold School and Bee badging, Retro Swinger rear fender graphics, 20-inch Gold School alloy wheels, Black six-piston Brembo brakes, woodgrain interior accenting, Nappa/Alcantara seats and green interior stitching.

The 2023 Dodge Charger King Daytona is the fifth of seven “Last Call” models. Based on the SRT Hellcat Redeye Widebody, it’s painted in Go Mango, it’s equipped with a the 807-horsepower V8, Satin Black King Daytona rear fender graphics, Satin Black hood and roof graphics, 20-inch Satin Carbon Warp Speed wheels, Orange six-piston Brembo brakes, Back Nappa/Alcantara “Daytona” seats, Orange interior stitching, carbon fibre interior trim bezels, an Alcantara steering wheel, a Harman Kardon sound system, a power sunroof and navigation.

Dodge Durango

The mighty Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat was offered for the 2021 model year and then disappeared, but now it’s back for 2023, once again boasting a 710-horsepower supercharged 6.2L V8 engine. There’s also the Durango SRT 392 with its 475-horsepower 6.4L HEMI V8 and 8,700-pound towing capacity. Families not in a hurry might also like the SXT, GT and Citadel variants with a 295-hp 3.6L V6, as well as the R/T and its 360-horsepower 5.7L V8, and the latter can also be selected on the Citadel as an option. AWD is available in the U.S., standard in Canada. Aside from the return of the Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat, no other changes have been announced yet for 2023.

Dodge Hornet

The Dodge Hornet is the brand’s first all-new product since, well, since the Dodge Dart sedan that was introduced for the 2013 model year and was dropped after 2016. This subcompact crossover is available in two variants, each sporting its own powertrain. The Hornet GT gets a turbocharged 2.0L inline-four with more than 265 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque, managed by a nine-speed automatic transmission, while the Hornet R/T benefits from a PHEV setup with a turbo 1.3L four, an electric motor, a six-speed automatic and a 15.5 kWh battery pack, delivering more than 285 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque, and an EV driving range of 30 miles or 48 kilometres. A PowerShot function temporarily boosts output by 25 horsepower as well.

The 2023 Dodge Hornet also features all-wheel drive across the board, a standard 12.3-inch fully digital driver instrument cluster as well as a 10.25-inch infotainment system touchscreen using Stellantis’ Uconnect 5 interface. A 14-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system, rain-sensing wipers, heated seats and steering wheel, power liftgate and a full suite of active safety features are also available. The Hornet GT arrives in late 2022 while the R/T PHEV hits dealerships in the spring of 2023.
