Lol; Life Hutch gave more cringeworthy, wince-inducing examples of how effective animated torture can be! With the first season way back in 2019 comprising of 18 shorts, the second one is a bit of a tease with just 8 acts, albeit a delight in its own – well to me at least.Fantastic animation techniques and each one with its own flavor, makes you contemplate of a day when live action might just be a thing of the past. Some of the stories are horror, some irony and some with heart – with the common thread in all being a bleak, dreamy future.My favorites are definitely "Pop Squad" with its Blade Runner-esque setting, "Snow In The Dessert" with a unique co*cktail of Mad Max and Star Wars, and of course the final one – "The Drowned Giant" a poetic ode to the ironic indifference of humanity towards the things larger than itself."Automated Customer Service" is very Black Mirror-esque with a touch of dark humor. "Ice" is right out of a psychedelic dream that we all have had at some point, just like "Tall Grass" is a sketch of a nightmare to remember. "All Through the House" is a very interesting and dark take at the spirit of Christmas and "Life Hutch" with Michael B. Jordan is a bloody space adventure.Very welcome little sho(r)ts of euphoria for avid fans of cyberpunk and dark sci-fi noire.
